Once upon a time back in 1957 a group of parents sat around a table and wondered how to make the world a better and accepting place for their children with developmental disabilities. Not wanting to place their children in institutions, as the professionals suggested, was how The Arc was born! While The Arc is no longer an acronym, the mission and dream still lives on. because of these loving parents. The Arc of High Point continues to assist people with developmental disabilities live their dreams. People want to be educated be included in their communities, have a job, volunteer and enjoy activities with everyone; but more importantly be seen for their ABILITIES.
